Vacances noël le 21/12/2024 - 04/01/2025. Belles fêtes à vous

Nature and the living

We care about the ecological impact of the production of our jewelry, the activities linked to it, as well as the materials we use.

Local manufacturing

At Ylen, we are humbly committed to supporting local French communities, by promoting artisanal know-how and preserving the heritage of French jewelry. In our workshop, we are constantly looking to offer employment and apprenticeship opportunities, thus actively contributing to its development.

Our jewelry is designed and prototyped by Ziyue Chen, then carefully crafted in Paris, in close collaboration with talented local artisans. Each Ylen creation thus bears two hallmarks: one for Ziyue Chen, the other for the Ylen brand, ensuring our commitment at every stage of the production process.

In addition, our choice of local production allows us to minimize our carbon footprint, thanks to the proximity of our workshops.

Recycled metals

Recycled metals have a lower carbon footprint than mined metals. We exclusively select 100% recycled brass, silver and gold, supplied by trusted French partners with almost a century of history. Most of our chains come from responsible local suppliers, in whom we have complete confidence.

We are actively working to have all our metals certified by the RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council), the leading global standards organisation for the jewellery and watch industry.

Metal recycling is also an essential practice in our Parisian workshop: we recover most of the metal waste from production to limit the waste of resources and reduce the environmental impacts linked to mining.

Other materials involved

Ylen places great importance on sustainability in the choice and production of new materials used.

Other materials, apart from metals, come from certified suppliers in France and Europe, or are made in collaboration with other artists and design workshops for limited edition jewelry collections.

If you are an artist or design studio, we would love to consider collaborating with you.

Durability of parts

At Ylen, we believe that jewelry should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also durable. To ensure maximum longevity, we opted for a 5-micron 24k gold plating, thicker than common alternatives, so that each creation retains its shine over the years.

For those looking for even more sustainable and environmentally friendly options, we also offer creations in solid gold, silver or platinum. These metals, although requiring a higher initial investment, have a reduced environmental impact in terms of recycling and production.

Responsible packaging

Aware of our impact on nature and producers, we pay particular attention to the materials used in all our activities.

For our packaging, we favor recycled or recyclable materials, as well as those resulting from artisanal know-how, while ensuring that more than 80% is reusable, in order to minimize waste.

Towards circularity

We deeply believe that jewelry, just like human beings, has its own vitality. We are committed to fully assuming our responsibility throughout its life cycle: from its creation to its end. We are firmly convinced of conscious production, consumption and end of life.

We are dedicated to designing and manufacturing jewelry that will accompany you for a long time, even to be passed down from generation to generation. We produce only what is necessary, replenish according to demand, and avoid overproduction. We encourage you to entrust us with your jewelry for repairs or maintenance, so that it can continue to accompany you over the years.

If one day you no longer wish to keep your Ylen jewel, we will be happy to assist you with an assessment and recycling with us, thus contributing to a sustainable life cycle.

By joining the Ylen family, you support this commitment. Thank you.
